Directed by Gabriela Bohm, The Longing: The Forgotten Jews of South America tells a story about European Jews being required to convert during the times of the Spanish Inquisition. They must confront many obstacles to become Jewish, including being secluded in primarily Catholic countries and being rejected by local Jewish communities. The Walnut Street Synagogue partners with Women in Film & Video New England and Boston Latino Film Festival to present this film series.
