Tamikrest creates a rocking modern sound rooted in Tuareg desert blues and influenced by its band members from Mali, Niger, Algeria, and France. The name Tamikrest means “junction, connection, knot, coalition” in the Tamasheq language, and the band explains, “a desert hosts us, a language unites us, a culture binds us.”
