The Cabot is proud to welcome Juanito Pascual back for the annual Flamenco Valentine’s celebration, now in its 7th year! This year Juanito and Friends present an all new show featuring a stellar lineup of both new and familiar faces, including dancer Neli Tirado, percussion and vocals by José Moreno, bassist Brad Barrett, and a very special guest, Grammy-winning artist and flamenco legend Jorge Pardo.

There could be no better way to celebrate with your Valentine, or to just warm up on a winter’s night New England, than with the passion, excitement, and beauty of flamenco. This year promises to once again be an unforgettable evening featuring Juanito and Friends alongside one of the most influential flamenco artists in the genre’s modern history.

ABOUT JORGE PARDO

Grammy-winning flute/saxophone player Jorge Pardo, is a truly one of a kind artist and one of the most sought after figures in the Spanish scene. He came to prominence through more than 20 years of collaboration with Paco de Lucia and his legendary Sextet, and was the first person to incorporate flute and sax into flamenco, including seminal recordings with the legendary Camaron de la Isla. As such, Jorge has set the template for instruments in flamenco outside of flamecno’s traditional instrument of guitar, creating an entirely new dimension of this ancient tradition. He’s worked extensively with Chick Corea, winning the 2020 Grammy award for Corea’s album “Antidote.” In 2012 he was awarded the “Best European Jazz Musician” award by the Academie Francaise du Jazz, and his 2023 release “Trance Sketches” (which features Juanito among many others guests) won the “Best Jazz Album” award at MIN in Spain. Jorge collaborates continuously with all of the top figures in flamenco as well as with artists from many genres.
