Manuela Sánchez-Goubert is a Colombian artist who combines jazz with Latin American folklore, creating a cosmopolitan sound. Sánchez-Goubert and her band belong to a new generation, inspired by the folkloric traditions of the 1950's, who propose new compositions with a modern touch, nourished by jazz reharmonizations. Born and raised in Colombia, she moved to New York as a teenager, where she was led into the jazz scene by mentors like Lucía Pulido and Lauren Kinhan. She has performed in major venues around the world, including Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Mad Monkfish, Palau de Les Arts, and Radio City Valencia. Sánchez-Goubert is about to release her first album of original songs, which will include an international tour. She is also finishing her studies as a full tuition scholar at Berklee College of Music and is part of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute.
