QUITAPENAS (Spanish for “to remove worries”) is a tropical Afro-Latin band from California whose songs explore the stories and traditions of Angola, Peru, Colombia, and Brazil. QUITAPENAS’s mission is simple: to make you dance and leave you without a worry. Founded in 2011, QUITAPENAS is composed of first-generation sons of immigrant parents from Guatemala and Mexico who share a love of dance rhythms from the tropical Afro-Latin diaspora.
