Injustice will not be tolerated.
BASE’s commitment to bridge cultural and linguistic gaps in Boston and beyond runs with the Black Lives Matter movement.
Although BASE activities remain remote until further notice, our presence against injustice is strong, and through our work we aim to move our grain of sand to end the systemic racism that has for too long been ignored.
We encourage the members of our community to speak out loudly as well attending vigils and rallies using the necessary social distancing. We recommend you keep abreast of Boston-area events via Twitter using the hashtags #blacklivesmatterboston, #BostonProtest and #BostonProtests.
Volunteer locally in your community to help take the necessary steps to create these dire changes. We recommend you check out what’s on Facebook to see what organizing is going on where you live and chip in. Quincy for Transformative Change is one example.
Don’t forget that despite the urgency for justice, this is a marathon, not a sprint. Practice self-care so you will be able to contribute in a sustained manner.
